About Emma

Emma Baird is a Scottish author who writes warm, witty fiction for readers who like their love stories served with sarcasm, emotional depth and the occasional midlife crisis. A lifelong fan of storytelling, she specialises in romantic comedies, contemporary fiction, and slightly chaotic fantasy — often featuring women navigating messy lives, handsome distractions and villages where everyone knows everyone else’s business.

Emma is the author of The Highland Books series, now published by Vinci Books. Set in a fictional Highland village full of eccentrics, escapades and questionable decision-making, the series has gained a loyal following among readers who enjoy feel-good romance with a tartan twist. She also self-publishes stand-alone novels and genre-mashing tales that involve vampires, faeries, dodgy make-up tutorials and characters who are trying (and often failing) to hold it all together.

She lives near the bonny, bonny banks of Loch Lomond with her long-suffering husband and two even more long-suffering cats. When she’s not writing, she can usually be found drinking too much Diet Coke, riding pillion on a motorbike she has no intention of ever driving herself or wandering the hills in search of inspiration, a phone signal or a pub.

Emma also writes about the ups and downs of publishing life in her newsletter, Pink Glitter & Panic, where she documents the not-so-glamorous reality of being a self-published author with a sense of humour and a frequently empty bank account.
