Let’s not beat around the bush—I’m not a household name (yet), and Forever, Maybe isn’t being touted by Reese Witherspoon’s book club or Oprah. I know, rude. But despite the lack of celebrity endorsements, I’ve written a book I’m really proud of: it’s funny, thoughtful, and occasionally devastating in that “oof, that hit a little too close to home” kind of way.
Set in Glasgow, Forever, Maybe is a contemporary women’s fiction novel about what happens after the fairy tale ending. Nell and Daniel married young, and now, two decades later, their life together is more steady trudge than romantic romp. Familiar arguments, long-suppressed doubts, and midlife restlessness bubble to the surface—can they find their way back to each other, or is it time to let go?
If you enjoy novels that explore long-term love, identity shifts in your forties, and the kind of domestic drama that makes you laugh and cry in equal measure, this might just be your cup of tea. Or Diet Coke, if you’re like me and can’t stomach coffee.
But before Forever, Maybe launches into the wild (on 28 August, if you want to mark your diary with a glittery pink highlighter), I need some help. I’m looking for ARC (Advance Reader Copy) readers—book lovers who fancy reading the novel before everyone else and leaving an honest review on sites like Amazon, Goodreads, or wherever you shout about the books you love (or like, or had complicated feelings about).
What do you get in return? A free digital copy of the book, my eternal gratitude, and the smugness of having read it before anyone else. What do I get? A fighting chance of this book being seen by people who don’t share my surname.
If you’re interested in being an ARC reader, just [insert contact method or link here] and I’ll send you all the details. No pressure, no pink glitter in the post (unless requested).
Thanks for reading—and for helping this slightly frazzled, deeply uncool author keep the dream alive.
